24 Ιουλίου, 2015Hydra will take place this year to the National Individual Chess Championship (65th Individual Championship and 38th Women’s Individual Championship) from April 21st to 29th 2015, organized by the Greek Chess Federation and the Chess Hydra Group. The races are under the auspices of the Municipality of Hydra, with the participation of the Region of Attica, the competition will take place in the area of the Historical Archive – Museum of Hydra.
The National Individual Championships are the most important annual events nationwide for the individual sport of chess. In the final phase of the tournament the leading male chess players and leading female chess players will battle for the emergence of the Champion and the Champion of Greece.
For the championship of men there will be staying in Hydra and compete like big masters (GM) Kotronias Claus (10 times Champion of Greece), the (GM) and Ioannis Nikolaidis (GM) Athanasios Mastrovasilis, who have struggled for years to National Team with great discrimination. Also the International Master (IM) Athan Dimitrov and the strongest representatives of the new generation of chess players like (FM) Sotiris Malikentzos (Champion of Greece 2013), the (FM) Anastasios Pavlidis, the (FM) and George Goumas (FM) Nikos Angelis, the new Champion of Greece Dimitris Ladopoylos and 17 year old (FM) Stamatis Kourkoulos.
For the women’s championship they will be staying in Hydra and competing with great athletes like (WIM) Stavroula Tsolakidou and (WGM) Maria Kouvatsou, athletes have brought titles and victories global chess, but also the Greek sports in general. At the same time competing all champions Greece and members of our national team, (WFM) Charitomeni Markantonakis, (WIM) Catherine Pavlidou and (WGM) Marina Makropoulou. Also (WIM) Ioulia Makka and Evanthia Makka, the (WFM) Georgia Grapsa the (WFM) Maria Stefanidis and Dimitra Vatkali starring in Greek female chess.
The top Greek male chess players and leading Greek female chess players, will come from all over Greece, to give racing appointments in Hydra, from 21 to 29 April 2015.
